Text: Hebrews 10: 19-25
Theme: Free Access to God
Free Access to God is the goal. Today it’s been achieved. Paradise was lost in Adam; paradise is regained in Jesus. Adam and Eve had an unfettered access right to God in the garden of Eden. By disobedience they lost this relationship. But God wasn’t done with man. There and then he made an arrangement to restore that intimate relationship. For we are part of him and his nature of love will never allow us to be lost forever.
When the Tabernacle was built God showed Moses that the barrier preventing free Access to Him (God) was still there. So there was the curtain which veiled the holy of holies from the worshipers. They could only imagine what was going on there. All through their years of regular sacrifices to God they never met God one on one. They were outsiders to the presence of God. Yet what they had was glorious in it’s own Right.
O! What privilege is ours. What joy! What gratitude!! We are not just made free of sin by Jesus’ death we are given right of free unfettered access to walk right from the outer court into the holy of holies. Jesus Christ has thorn the curtain. He’s made a way through his body. Now all who believe in him and his sacrifice can boldly go in to meet face to face with the father. Alleluia!!! Finally God has achieved his aim for the Tabernacle in the wilderness. He can now dwell with man (Exodus 25:8). However we must note well that this access is available only to those who have been to the cross with Jesus. Those that have accepted by faith all that he has done. This is the main reason we must not neglect our gathering together. We must gather to encourage one another and also tell the ignorant about this wonderful privilege in Jesus
