text: Psalm 139 verse 13 to 24
Theme: I am unique
Today’s Bible passage clearly shows that I am unique indeed. God knows each of us intimately. He does not only know our sitting and standing rather he created us and knows everything about us.
God formed our intricate parts right from the cells, organs and the systems which are so complicated that even doctors cannot fathom all of it. In addition, he gave us our unique looks, talents and bodies. it is indeed a wondrous act of God that no two human beings are exactly alike. God has done all of this to make known his supreme creative ability and also show that everyone is unique in his own right.
Therefore, there is no basis for comparison between one person and another. Our purposes, destinies and mandates in life are divinely and uniquely arranged by God. The best we can do is to seek him so that he will reveal to us his purposes for making us.
Furthermore, our days on earth are written down in his book (v 16) even before we began to exist he already knows how many days we have to live on Earth. Isn’t this a wonderful knowledge? God loves and values us this much. God knows all that concerns us; our worries, troubles, pains, sorrows, dilemmas, difficulties, dreams and aspirations. He knows them all.
Fortunately, he desires to bring all our expectations to reality. This knowledge will give us courage that the one whom we call God is loving, kind, compassionate and all knowing. He is the almighty and everywhere present God. He knows the ending from the very beginning. Therefore, he wishes above all things that we shall live up to his expectations and eventually become the men and women he purposes us to be.
So, verses 23-25 concludes the whole matter thus:
Search me O God and know my heart. Try me and know my anxieties. And see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.
Can you make this your daily prayer, beloved? We need to ask God to examine us always and put us right back on track. Mani is always drawn away from God’s divine purpose. We usually have the mindset of doing things our own way without consulting God. Let us resist such inclinations today. We cannot go far if we neglect the one who has the manual and blueprint of our lives.
Finally, everything we seek to achieve in life is with him. He has the road map to our success route. If we find him; we find our unique self. If we do not seek him first then we loose out and begin to copy others. But remember, the Copycat always produced a counterfeit, never the original. Submit to God today and become your unique original self. God bless you!
