Text: Proverbs 20:1-15
Theme: Don’t lose it; Get it Right!

Don’t lose it, get it right! What are we not to lose? What are we admonished to get right? Today’s bible passage is full of nuggets for guidance in the way we conduct our lives. So that we live right. Our conducts as Christians must be marked by integrity. In the past, for one to say “I am a Roman was enough to attest to his integrity. Hence, to say “I am a Christian” should be enough to vouch for our integrity and right living. We must not lose our integrity for any reason but rather keep it intact.

In addition,  Ephesians 2:10, gives us this wonderful truth

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things he planned for us long ago

Yes, we are recreated to live right just the way God wants. Therefore, we have received the power to become children of God. The power of the holy spirit transforms us into new men whose ability to do right goes beyond what self discipline can do.

Unfortunately,  intoxicating drinks only mocks, yet, many people, even, some believers seem to find solace in alcohol. Sadly, all these efforts are futile. It shows a lack of trust in God’s word. Likewise, our inability to handle anger and the urge to cheat shows spiritual immaturity. We must be calm in the face of provocation for anger only makes a fool of you.

Furthermore, diverse weights and diverse measures are an abomination to God. Many people overstate their quotation of work or try to cut corners with all kinds of shoddy practices…God detest all these things. Moreover, you must quit laziness. Work at the right time. Get multiple streams of income so that you have enough resources to take care of your needs and that of others. Many people go from one church program to another day after day abandoning their businesses. This is not a biblical principle. The first responsibility given to man by God is work. Remember, if anyone will not work let him also not eat.

In conclusion, only Jesus through the power of indwelling holy spirit helps you to live this kind of life. Stay united with him so you can always get it right and not lose it.
