Text: Mathew 9:14-26
Theme: The Touch of Faith
We all need the touch of faith. We all yearn for it daily. We manifest this in our prayers each time we come to God with our requests. We all are in desperate need of his touch and I pray; may he touch you at the point of need today in Jesus name, Amen.
Verses 20 – 22 narrate again the story of this lady with the issue of blood whom we know very well. She communed within herself
if only I may touch his garment, I shall be made well
Then she moved forward and did just that. Alas! She was made whole. This is faith in action. She conceived it in her heart, which is to say; she saw it in her mind’s eye, then she consolidated it with action and it gave birth to her dreams.
The teenagers’ SU Daily Power have a similar study today from the book of John 4. In that text, even distance wasn’t a barrier. Jesus only gave the word and it was so. All we need is faith. And what is faith? faith is an implicit trust that God will do what he says he will do. It is sad that we study God’s promises day and night but disregard them whenever the need arises.
We easily trust our parents or spouses more than we trust God. No wonder he asks in Luke 6Then he asks us, “if you men who are wicked know how to give good gifts to your family members then why can’t I give to all who ask me, O ye of little faith?
Where do you need his touch today? He is ever ready to reach out to you. Are you struggling with any sin? He is ever willing to get you out of it. Trust that he has sent his son to deliver you from all unrighteousness and has given you the power to become his child.
Many of us actually know how to pray and fast but if we are still carrying our old wineskins, then we cannot bear the new wine of the holy spirit; the wineskin will just burst from the pressure. Fasting is good but meaningless before God when it is done outside his will. Therefore, you must be born Again, even here you only need his touch. Call on him and he will come to you and give you new life. Be blessed!
