In Mathew 13:44-46, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven as a fine pearl or treasure of great value. It is so great and priceless people give up all they have to possess it. Sadly, today the pursuit of heaven is a fading pearl.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; which when a man hath found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has and buys that field (Mathew 13: 45)
Obviously, the reality of heaven being a treasure is looking different in many quarters today. Many of us progressively, seem not to value the kingdom enough anymore to give up, our comfort, pleasures and treasures for its priceless glory. The fine pearl and treasure is fading away in many of our eyes. A spiritual blindness is steadily growing. Many things are fast replacing our genuine separateness to holy living and fervent pursuit of God’s kingdom.
There is a question for you today. Has the pursuit of heaven become a fading pearl to you? Have you become so engrossed with the earth and earthy that you’ve forgotten your destination? How much priority do you still place on making heaven? How much do you do everyday to get people on the side of God’s kingdom? What are you doing with your gifts? It is consoling to know that God is still choosing “the foolish and the weak’ to value His kingdom.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called (1 Cor 1: 26)
Are you ready to pick up where you left off? Can you reposition this fading fine pearl where it rightly belongs?Authentic Christianity may seem cumbersome, but its reward is very great. Do not loose your guard!
…remain in me, and I in you for without me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
