Christmas; A Celebration of God’s Love

Christmas is a celebration of God’s love. It tells the story of the unimaginable love of God where God becomes man to save the man he created. Sadly, many people around the globe give reasons why they do not celebrate Christmas. As believers and disciples of Christ we celebrate Jesus everyday. But, at Christmas, we celebrate him specially. This is because, the occasion of his birth reminds us about the unmatchable love of God.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Interestingly, all over the Bible, His love speaks. Hence, Ephesians, describes it as a more deep and profound love than can’t be understood. Zephaniah 3:17 says “God rejoices over us with gladness”. James 1:17 shares that every good and perfect gift  is from our Heavenly Father. Oh, that is so good!

Nevertheless, the question remains: “how do we respond to God’s love”? Amidst the busyness of Christmas, do you relegate this love? How do you respond to the One who is rejoicing over you right now? Rejoicing! Who loves like that? Only Him.

The heart of Christmas

In the gospels, Jesus unveiled the most important thing to do. He says we should love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. What does it look like to love God like that? When was the last time you did so?

Consistently, loving Him with our all is the right response. The only way to appreciate the one who adores us with a love so joyful, glad, good, and perfect is to love him. Therefore, there is no better moment to share this love of God and his Christ than at Christmas. Christmas is a celebration of God’s love. Go out of your way to share his awesome love with all.

PRAYER: Father, we ask for grace to be intentional in sharing your message of love. Help us to be ready to share to all and with all from our resources. May we not withhold anything good physical and spiritual from those who need it. Grant that we spend this season of Christmas celebrating your love in a way that glorifies you through Christ. Amen!
