The bible verse for Meditation and memorization today is Psalms 100:4-5
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations (KJV)
Thoughts on today verse:
It is obvious from verse 4 that the password into God’s presence is thanksgiving and praise. Thanksgiving comes with gratitude for favours and blessings received, while praise uses precious words to bless, exult and magnify the name of the lord for who he is.
Many times we are so overwhelmed by our troubles that we barge into God’s presence without the slightest thought of honouring his name first. We begin to lay our complaints and bombard him with our needs. It may not occur to us that we have not followed the due process.
God has given us a pattern. Jesus always looked up and gave thanks. Let us learn from him. He taught us to begin our prayer by first hallowing and blessing the name of the lord. Whenever we approach the throne of grace may we not forget the twin keys of THANKSGIVING
and PRAISE. What are you thankful for today?
