God’s love over us is beyond measure. He is the lover who never gets tired of giving himself. He is dependable as he is caring. He never goes away. He is committed to our well being from the beginning of time till eternity to come. Love is the greatest attribute of God and his greatest strength. Variously in the old testament he tried to show this love, to make us understand it. In Jeremiah 31:3 (New International Version), we read;
3 The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness
And in Isaiah 43:2 (New International Version)
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
God has loved humanity with an eternal kindness. He did the unimaginable. He gave his only son, just to buttress this fact. In Jesus he gave this love a name. He left the comfort and glory of heaven and came down to find us. What more can he do to assure us that he is committed to loving us forever.
You may feel, weak, dejected, confused, hopeless and lost right now. But if you can allow the word of this song by Cory to speak to your soul, you will find the comfort you need in this love of God. Jesus left the ninty nine to find me. He is also set to find you if you can ask him.
Will you ask him to come into your life today? Will you ask him to take your problems and troubles away? Will you cast your burden on him? He is ever ready; waiting patiently for you. If you open the door of your heart he will come in and dine with you (Revelations 3:20). Come to him today and find rest for your soul. His love is eternal, nothing can change the love he has for you. Nothing can make it die.
