This prayer is specifically dedicated to the Nigerian Nation in General and to the Nigerian Youths in particular. I therefore invite every truly spirit led believer to join us in this interactive prayer session. It has always been my desire and prayer to see a generation that will rise up and say “NO” to all the wrongs and ills of our dear country. It has never happened before in the history of this nation that a group of youths had the boldness to stand up to a ruling government and make righteous demands over the failed governmental system. Today we are witnesses to what God can do. God is birthing a revival in this nation. God is taking us somewhere better, but we must pray. Our voices have been heard by the whole world and by the Nigerian governmental authorities. It must also be heard by God.
Let me tell us a little story: In Genesis chapter 18, God paid a visit to a land called Sodom. And in verse 20-21, He made a statement that gave me a glimpse into how God operates. It reads
“And the lord said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not , I will know”
The point is that we have done what can be done physically, the rest is a spiritual war. It is time to go supernatural. It is time to pray
God cannot arise to a situation unless those concerned ask for his help. There were people who cried out in prayer against Sodom before God could arise “to go and check”. In the book of Exodus the same thing happened. The children of Israel were meant to spend only 400 years in Egypt (see Genesis 15:16) but they added extra 30 years because they did not start praying on time (see Exodus 2;23-24, 3:9,12:40-41) Again in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if the people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and I will heal their land”. This is a verse we know so well. This is all the urging we need to pray.
Can you open up your heart and pray in the spirit right now. For we know not even what to pray, but the spirit which knows the heart of the father groans within us unto God with groaning that cannot be uttered.
“Lord we come to you this day in prayer. We have no control over the affairs of this nation but we know that everything is clear before you. All we know very well is how we suffer. Task masters have been placed above us since independence. We used to hear of some glorious tales about the beauty and affluence of this Nation. Today Lord, giants have waylaid us and bandits have taken away everything that you blessed us with. How can we continue to live with this oppression. What belongs to the whole nation is being enjoyed by a very little few who have made themselves gods. Our youths who had the courage to say NO! Those who mustered courage to challenge the status quo were brutally murdered in cold blood. And the most saddening part is that our president has no word of sorry for the loss of their lives. Father these are men who would rather kill even generations yet unborn for money… Arise O lord! Hear us O holy father! Come down and see for yourself. Come and see if what we are saying is true and when you see O almighty, please stand to judge all the Pharaohs. Declare your judgements lord and set your people free. We cannot go on like this father. We have nothing left but sorrow, sadness and disillusionment. Have mercy on us. For the innocent blood that has been spilled in this fight O God, turn and look at us. Let the whole world know that there is a God in heaven who interferes in the affairs of men. Thank you father for hearing us even as we pray in Jesus name, Amen!
Please, this is an interactive prayer session. Especially for those of us that are Nigerians. Even if you’re not Nigeria you can join us in this prayer for our dear Nation. Write down your own prayer in the comment section if you can or simply join faith with others by typing Amen! God bless you. God bless Nigeria. God bless our youths. Amen! Amen!!
