2 Samuel 5: 17 – 25
then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron…
At the fullness of time, the word of God became established over the land. Eventually, all the tribes came to David at Hebron. Alleluia!
In 1 Samuel chapters 13-15 after Saul disobeyed God in the matter of the Philistines and the Amalekites respectively; God rejected him from being king and the kingdom was taken away from him. God had to look for another man. From the sheep pen he found David; a man after his own heart and anointed him as king. The anointing immediately, began to break all yokes in the life of David even when he was yet to sit on the throne.
From that moment until the day of Saul’s death he kept on pursuing David to take his life but God kept David well hidden in the face of all dangers and perils to which he was exposed. Today, we are witnessing God’s faithfulness in the life of David. Whatever God ordains must surely come to pass, it may take time but if we remain faithful, God will never renege on his promises.
If God be for us who can be against us
When God is with you, you are unstoppable. It is God who establishes and not man therefore put no hope in man. Man may struggle all he can to put you down. Situations may discourage you beyond your faith. Your own strength will fail you if you should rely on it. You will be tested beyond what you can bear. But the man who puts his trust in God shall never be put to shame.
those who trust in the lord are like Mount Zion which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. Amen!
